William A. Berry & Son, Inc. and their demolition sub-contractor, WK MacNamara, has commenced the preparatory internal demolition work on Brewster House and that work will continue through next week. The main demolition of Brewster will occur next Saturday, August 15, and hopefully be completed on that one day. The potential exists how ever for additional main demolition work needing to occur on Monday, August 17.
IMPORTANT NOTE - The existing diverted walkway leading from the Hood's entrance towards Clement and eventually out to Lebanon St. will be closed from use on Saturday, August 15 due to its close proximity to the Brewster demolition work. This walkway closure may also have to continue through Monday, August 17 should any continuing adjacent Brewster demolition work also need to continue. Everyone's understanding of this temporary inconvenience is greatly appreciated - it is truly for everyone's benefit and safety.
*** Suggested Alternate Pedestrian Routes from Wheelock St. to Lebanon St. ***
A) Directly through the entire length of the Hopkins Center.
B) From New Hampshire house driveway, along the walkway by McKenzie's (FO&M) entrance and out through the FO&M yard/parking lot.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions and/or comments.
