Trash Management

On campus

The building custodians manage trash collection. Campus trash is picked up by the College's Truck Crew and taken to various consolidation compactors on campus. The compactors are taken to Lebanon landfill by Northeast Waste Services, Inc. Trash may not contain wood, metal, cement, bricks, or plaster. If you have these items or bulk trash please contact Work Control at 646-2508 to arrange pickup. Personal (home) trash is not allowed in the College system, since the cost of disposal is time consuming and costly.

If you need trash bins in your area please contact your custodian.

If you have accidentally thrown something out that you want to get back contact Work Control immediately. There is a small chance that we may be able to catch the trash before it leaves the building.

Off Campus

Your trash will still be managed by the building custodian, but the final collection of the trash may be done by the College's Truck Crew or Northeast Waste Services. Contact Facilities Operations & Management with any questions about trash collection in your building.

Rental Housing

Sachem Village

If you live in Hanover your trash may be part picked up by the College's Truck Crew or by Northeast Waste Services, Inc. Contact Dartmouth Recycles for information on pick up days.
