Resident Students

Undergraduate Students

All students bringing motor vehicles to Hanover must register these with the Parking Office located at 37 Dewey Field Road, Room 201. There is a $50 fine per term for any student failing to register for campus lots or for off-campus parking. Student resident parking (A-lot) registration is by the term and must be renewed each term. Students must show the vehicle registration, their valid drivers license and their College I.D. when registering. The fee for parking in College lots is $20.00 a term; there is no charge to register for off-campus parking (i.e. fraternities, sororities, and private homes). Off-campus registration must be renewed each year for the period July1 - June 30. Registration permits must be affixed to the front driver's side and right rear bumpers of the vehicle or the passenger front and drivers side back windows. DO NOT place over expired decal.

Graduate Students

All Graduate students bringing motor vehicles to Hanover must register these with the Parking Office located at 37 Dewey Field Road, room 201. There is a $50.00 fine per term for failure to register. Permits are renewable July 1 - June 30. There is a fee for parking and is prorated by the term. Students must show the vehicle registration, their valid drivers license and their College I.D. Parking will be assigned at the time of registration. Decals must be affixed to the front drivers side and right rear bumpers of the vehicle, or the passenger front and drivers side back windows. DO NOT place over expired decal.

Parking Areas and Use

  1. Lots are restricted for use by signs at entrance indicating the type of permit required.
  2. Visitor spaces are clearly marked and are off limits to students, student guests, faculty and employees. Visitors must obtain temporary permits from the Parking Office located at 37 Dewey Field Road, Room 201, extension 6-2204.
  3. All handicapped and reserved spaces are clearly marked and off limits to all except the vehicle(s) described on the sign.
  4. Student vehicles are not allowed to park on campus between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
  5. Short-term parking (15 minute limit) to do College business and to load and unload vehicles will be allowed only when accompanied by the use of emergency flashers. This does not include fire lanes, entrances to buildings, lawns, or blocking sidewalks and roadways.

Signs

Official posted signs determines the use of all parking areas. Areas not marked are ''no parking'' areas.

Violations

  1. Unregistered vehicles
  2. Parking in any unauthorized area (i.e., no permit, improper or incorrect permit, reserved or handicapped spaces when inapplicable, etc.).
  3. Parking at any time, including nights and weekends on Tuck Mall, Tuck Circle, Tuck Drive, Whittemore Circle, River Cluster Dorms, Wheelock Cluster Dorms, lawns, fire lanes, delivery entrances, special areas and any other than designated parking areas.
  4. Failure to display decals.
  5. Failure to display decals in one of two designated areas.
  6. Failure to display visitor or carpool windshield card.
  7. Parking in areas restricted to carpool permit holders only.
  8. Securing or using parking permits through misrepresentation or fraud.
  9. Student vehicle parking on campus between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday - Friday.
  10. Temporary (15-minute limit) parking without accompanying flashers.
