The Parking program at Dartmouth was established in 1971 to manage the
parking lots on campus. When a parking structure was needed at DHMC that same
year, the Trustees ruled that the free funds for the College should not be used
to subsidize the parking program. At that time, a tow truck was purchased, two
parking officers hired, and a small office was set up in the basement of
College Hall.
The Parking Office is now located at 37 Dewey Field road and is overseen by
the Director of Fiscal and Auxiliary Services located in the Facilities and
Operations Department. The Parking Office has an Office Coordinator, 1
full-time staff , and 3 full-time parking officers.
