When do the floods start?

Some of the years have a specific distribution. For example in 1998 the flood season peak was in the spring and on the other hand it was in the fall in 2000. More generally since 1997 the peak of the flood season seems to follow a sinusoid. Most interesting is the syntesis of these 16 years of data which shows a very good symetric/gaussien distribution:

  • 6 months of "low" flood period (Nov. to Apr.)
  • 2 months of increase (May, June)
  • 2 months of "high" flood period (Jul., Aug.)
  • 2 months of decrease (Sept., Oct.).
