Web ADI Tips

  • Be sure that you are using the correct blank template.  Templates you may have saved from training or testing will point at the wrong database and will not upload to the OASIS production system. The correct template should have the following information in the top section:
    • Balance Type: Actual
    • Database: ADI Journal
    • Set of Books: DC GENERAL LEDGER
    • Category: Adjustment
    • Source: Manual
    • Currency: USD

  • Filling out a blank Web ADI template should not require signing in to Oracle.  It is only when you use the Oracle tools for Chart Lookup (List of Values), or Upload, that Oracle will ask for user name and password.  These will be the ones set up for Copper/production.  See Frequently Asked Questions about Security if you are not sure what this user name and password are, or to reset your password.

  • Macros should always be enabled when opening the Web ADI template; this allows the Oracle functionality to work.  If you have not enabled macros, you will be able to enter data and save it.  You will not be able to look up valid chart string values, or upload your journal entry.  Exit the template and reopen it to enable macros.  If you are not prompted to enable Macros, please see the Frequently Asked Questions about Web ADI.

  • If you are authorized to upload Web ADI journals, you will see "DC GL Journals" as one of your Oracle responsibilities when you sign in to Oracle. This responsibility has been set up for you to upload from within your ADI template in Excel only. It is not for direct entry within Oracle and should not be used there.
