Why am I getting an “invalid journal entry line” message and there
is no information on that line?
Even if there is no chart string or dollar amounts on a line, if the line
has a flag under the Upl column (far left), ADI will try to
upload the line. Double-click the flag to make it go away and this error
should not recur.
I have completed data entry but the Oracle Upload command doesn't
work. What's wrong?
Make sure that you have pressed Enter or move the cursor off the cell into
which you have finished entering data. Otherwise Excel thinks you are still
editing that cell and won't allow Upload.
Why is my chart string invalid/incomplete?
Make sure that you have started entering the value for Entity in the Entity
column, not the Upl column to the far left. The Upl column
should be left blank; the system may put a flag symbol there but the user won't
enter data there. Each chart string segment should be entered in a separate
cell with no symbols such as periods or dashes included. If a chart string
value begins with zero and this gets dropped (or Subactivity 0000 converts to
0), re-enter the number with a single quote ( ' ) before it so it will be
interpreted as text and the beginning zeroes will be preserved.
