eProcurement Tips
- IMPORTANT: Fill out your Preferences before entering a
transaction
After you sign in to DC eProcurement, click
Preferences (in the the top, right corner of your screen) and
then click iProcurement Preferences (on the left side of your
screen). If you need help adding chart strings or a PTAEO when you get to this
screen, please refer to the documentation you received in your training class.
(Remember, you cannot enter a PTAEO in your preferences until July 16.) After
setting your preferences you will want to log out and then log back in so the
preferences will take effect.
- Do not use the Back button on your browser's toolbar.
This will result in an error and you will have to log in again.
- Favorites: If you order the same items on a regular basis, you may want to
add these items to your "favorites" list. Please refer to your training
documentation if you need help in using the favorites list.
- When you first log in, there will often be "News" items and other important
information such as the category/buyer listing, the transaction matrix,
policies and procedures, and the chart lookup tool, listed in the lower right
corner. Please review these items to stay informed.
- Note to Buyer field.
If you have important information for the buyer to see, please enter it in this
field. Examples include: a contact name at the supplier, new supplier
information, etc. Please refer to the training documentation for further
instructions.
- When saving the requisition you will want to give it a meaningful
description that you can find easily later to copy if you wish to order the
same items again while using the same distribution information.
- Freight: Only add a freight line to non-catalog orders, if you know
the exact amount to be charged. Otherwise, Accounts Payable will match
the freight line with the invoice and the amount will be equally distributed
across the lines.
