Miscellaneous and Communications

  • Shift to bulk mailing instead of first class.
  • Use in-house design resources instead of outsourcing.
  • Centralize the design and printing of generic letterhead, business cards, envelopes, etc. to reduce the price per piece; departments could request an amount from a stored supply.
  • Use free online subscriptions to periodicals, or get group online paid subscriptions.
  • Lower academic admissions standards for wealthy potential students.
  • Move to a traditional academic calendar so the College can be more cost-effective in the summer.
  • A variety of comments have been submitted regarding altering the structure of the parking fee system and encouraging alternative transportation.

  • Eliminate (by attrition) the big screen televisions in the libraries.
  • Promote Dartmouth to movie and television production companies as a filming location.
