Dartmouth has established channels for asking questions about regulatory compliance, seeking guidance about College policies or procedures, or reporting suspected violations of law, policy, or business ethics. Reports may be made anonymously.

Facilities

  • Slow or stop the expansion of facilities.
  • Reduce the frequency or service level of maintenance such as painting, grounds care, and cleaning of offices.
  • Outsource certain maintenance activities to redirect internal resources.
  • Reduce maintenance of recreational facilities.
  • Have all College staff and students contribute to grounds maintenance and clean up after themselves in their offices and dorms.
  • Use less gas-powered equipment such as mowers and blowers.
  • Consider the cost/benefit of the composting facility.
  • Reduce the use of leased property for offices- bring the offices back onto College-owned property.
  • Stop use of firewood- and gas-fired fireplaces in College buildings.
  • Evaluate continued ownership of Viets Cottage, Minary Center, the Hanover Inn, Morton Farm, the Skiway, and the Hanover Country Club, as well as all College-owned non-student residential properties.
  • Cease all non-essential and non-routine maintenance unless there are life-safety issues.
  • Do minor vehicle maintenance and repairs in-house for College-owned vehicles.
  • Reduce the level of service of sidewalk plowing and snow clearing.
