Julie Sagalowski '00 has recently announced that the new show she has created with Alex Diaz has been picked up as a series by Astral Media. Julie writes that "we're doing a crazy combination of broadcast and online distribution, with us writing 20 half-hour sitcom episodes, plus 20 webisodes, all broken into 5 minute chunks (hence an unusual order of 100 episodes of 5 minutes each). We're already deep into writing and will be in Toronto Nov-Dec for the shoot. Family Channel will begin rolling out the series in Jan/Feb".

The show, titled "What's Up, Warthogs", centers on a group of teens that aim to transform their school's morning announcements into an entertaining news show. The show's staff includes Executive Producer Bill O'Dowd (Zoey 101), with a writing team led by Dean Batali (That 70's Show, Buffy the Vampire Slayer). The show will air on the premium, commercial-free Family Channel, which reaches over 6 million homes across Canada.
