• Jeffrey Ruoff's article “Ten Nights in Tunisia: Les Journées Cinématographiques de Carthage” was published in Film International (v. 6, n. 4, 2008, pp. 43-51). Jeff also attended the Edinburgh International Film Festival in Scotland in June 2008.
• Jeffrey Ruoff worked with Bill Pence to design this summer's Dartmouth Film Society "Africa on Film" series. Chadian filmmaker Mahamet Saleh-Haroun was awarded the Dartmouth Film Award on July 11, and Jeff hosted a discussion with the filmmaker after a screening of his film Daratt in Loew Auditorium.

Spring 2008

• Helen Kang '06 was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship to study animation production and Chinese Animation History at Beijing Film Academy, ’08-09.
• Reggie Schickel '09's "What We Can Draw From Obama", a 30-second animated ad for Barack Obama, was given the “Most Original Ad” award in MoveOn.org’s “Obama in 30 Seconds” video competition in May , 2008. Reggie's win was featured in a May 13th article in The D.
  
• Jeffrey Ruoff received a fellowship from the Camargo Foundation in Cassis, France, where he will be in residence from January-May 2009.
• David Ehrlich's “Ferenc Mikulas and the Kecskemet Animation Studio”, has been published in CARTOON (John Libbey:London; Spring, 2008).
