Description: The Economist Intelligence Unit's EIU Country Reports/Profiles provide information on the business, economic, and political environment for nearly 200 countries. Each report provides a detailed review and analysis of political and economic events, a compilation of the latest economic indicators, a 1-2 year political outlook and economic projection. The annual Country Profiles include statistical tables covering five years of the main macroeconomic indicators.

Description: The World Factbook is produced annually by the Central Intelligence Agency for the use of United States Government officials. The Factbook contains information about the map and flag, geographic, population, government, economic, communication, transportation, military, and transnational issue for each country for the latest year available. There are also sixteen individual reference maps and eight appendices.

Title: ALFRED: ArchivaL Federal Reserve Economic Data

Description: Using ALFRED you can retrieve vintage versions of data that were available on specific dates in history. In general, economic data for past observation periods are revised as more accurate estimates become available. As a result, previous vintages of data can be superceded and may no longer be available from various data sources.

Currently, vintage data are available for 205 series in 5 FRED categories: Consumer Price Index, Producer Price Index, Employment and Population, U.S. Trade and International Transactions, Business/Fiscal. The earliest vintage available is January 17, 1996. Over time, this will increase the number of series and vintages available.

On this web site you will find links to scanned images (in Adobe Acrobat PDF format) of historical economic statistical publications, releases, and documents.

When used in connection with data contained in FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data), FRASER allows the researcher to create uninterrupted data series by accessing sources previously available only in printed form and those currently available electronically (on FRED). COMPUSTAT provides more than 300 annual and 100 quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Statement of Cash Flows, and supplemental data items on more than 24,000 publicly held companies.

CRSP, the Center for Research in Security Prices, maintains the most comprehensive collection of security price, return, and volume data for the NYSE, AMEX and Nasdaq stock markets. CRSP also provides CRSP/COMPUSTAT Merged Database, a database that simplifies matching COMPUSTAT financial data to the CRSP security price data.

EVENTUS performs event studies that compute abnormal returns for specific corporate actions or events using data directly from the CRSP stock database.
