The Cardigan Fall Hike 2002The first annual Cardigan Fall Hike succeeded wonderfully despite a rather small enrollment. Professor Tom Luxon, Helen Parsons, Ian Stebinger, Duncan Gilles, and Crystal Wirth, achieved the summit just before noon on Saturday. Winds gusting to 50 miles per hour added excitement to the dramatic views.
We also visited Ruggles Mine and then spent a lovely evening at the AMC's Cardigan Lodge where we swam in the pond, ate very well, slept in cozy beds, and enjoyed star-gazing on a moonless night. On Sunday we hiked to a beaver pond and enjoyed a BBQ with home-made ice cream before returning to campus in time for the Cluster Council meeting. Please enjoy our picture album. Photo: Tom Luxon |
