Tom Chappell Completes First Week of Residence

Tom Chappell and President Wright

October 17, 2003. Tom Chappell, Co-Founder and President of Tom's of Maine, completes the first week of his residence at Dartmouth College today.

As the first recipient of the Dorsett-Cotrell Fellowship in Applied and Professional Ethics, Chappell spent this week discussing the social, ethical and environmental responsibilities of businesses with students, faculty and administrators. One highlight of his visit was an abbreviated Saltwater Institute program which he shared with administrators of Dartmouth College. Chappell founded the not-for-profit organization in Maine, to teach innovative value-centered leadership development programs.

Chappell will return to campus on November 10 and will be in residence until November 13.
