Aine Donovan   Aine Donovan is the Executive Director of  

  the Ethics Institute, a consortium of faculty 

  concerned with teaching and research in

  applied and professional ethics.  She 

  received her doctoral degree from the

  University of San Francisco in 1994, and

  taught at several colleges and universities

  before accepting the position of Executive

  Director at Dartmouth’s Ethics Institute. Dr.

  Donovan’s research emphasis and

  publications are in the areas of moral education, applied ethics, professional  ethics, and philosophy of education.

At Dartmouth she is the primary point of contact for faculty and administrators in integrating ethics into the curriculum. In 2002 Dr. Donovan received a faculty appointment to the Dartmouth Medical School, where she coordinates ethics in medical education. Additionally, she teaches in a variety of departments: undergraduate, graduate and professional schools. She is currently administering and teaching in a 3-year National Institutes of Health $1,165,000 grant for inquiry into the ethical, legal and social implications of the human genome project.
