The ESD organizes, or helps organize, a variety of festivities for Dartmouth Students. Most recently, the ESD cosponsored the Winter Event at the Dartmouth Organic Farm which took place on Saturday February 20th. The gathering featured snowshoing, snow games, a potluck dinner, a huge bonfire and more.
The ESD also plans interesting fieldtrips for members and other students. On Friday, February 26th, students went on a tour of the ROT, the new Dartmouth/Hanover state-of-the-art composting plant.
Future fieldtrips will include a trip to a nearby wind farm, and also to the educational center at the Hanover Co-Op.
ESD members go on regular outings. This term, a group of students traveled to the Second Dartmouth College Grant. Despite the frigid temperatures, the outing proved delightful. The trip consisted of much eating, snowshoeing, and discussion about the future of ESD.
Tree-identification treks or wildlife-watching walks. The ESD goes on many nature hikes. What better way to relax from the hustle-bustle of campus life!
