Lodging Information
Conference attendants will be staying in several hotels in the Hanover area.

The Hanover Inn: The majority of conference events will take place at the Hanover Inn, which is located at 2 South Main Street in Hanover, across from the Dartmouth College Green.

Parking
Transportation will be provided for participants to all conference events. However, if you have a car, there are several parking options. Both the Hanover Inn and Six South Street offer valet parking for a fee. The downtown Hanover area also has metered parking spaces and lots. The Residence Inn and Element offer free parking to their guests. The EPR Center also has ample free parking.

Conference Rooms
Most of the meetings will take place in the ballroom of the Hanover Inn. Information screens placed throughout the hotel will contain more information about specific meeting rooms.

Conference Badges
Please wear your name badge at all times. This badge will grant you access to the conference center, events and meals.

Oral Presentations
For 10 minute oral presentation the presenter MUST leave a minimum of 2 minutes for discussion and therefore has a maximum of 8 minutes for the talk itself.
For presentations more than 10 minutes, presentation MUST leave a minimum of 5 minutes for discussion.

The timing rules will be rigidly enforced to avoid disadvantaging other speakers.

Poster Presentations
Posters must fit on a 3’ x 4’ poster board. Each poster will be assigned to a designated poster board with an assigned poster number. Each poster presenter is asked to give a short, 2 minute oral description of the overall message of the poster. You may start setting up your poster on the evening of Sunday, October 4. Posters must be disassembled by Thursday, October 8.

Session Chair Guidelines
All session chairs are asked to remind speakers to adhere to the time limits and assist in compliance. Chairs should also facilitate question and answer sessions by identifying audience participants and controlling this period of time. Remind speakers and questioners that long discussions can and should be extended into the next break, rather than into the next speaker’s allotted time. All session chairs are responsible for ensuring that their session end on time.

Internet Access
Wireless internet will be available for participants during conference events at the Hanover Inn. The Hanover Inn, Six South Street, Element and Residence Inn all offer complementary wireless internet to their guests.

Meals and Refreshments
All meals will be covered by the conference except for Wednesday night, which is a free night for conference guests.

Social Events
Social events will be held most evenings during the conference. On Sunday, there will be a welcome reception at the Dartmouth Outing Club House, located on the picturesque Occom Pond to kick-off of the BIODOSE conference. Monday evening, the dinner will be held at the Montshire Museum of Science located across the Connecticut River in Norwich, Vermont. On Tuesday, Drs. Hal Swartz and Ann Flood will host an evening of dinner, drinks, balloon rides, music, and fireworks at their residence in near-by Lyme, NH. On Thursday night, the last night of the BIODOSE conference, the dinner will take place at the AVA Art Gallery in Lebanon, NH. Wednesday will be a free night for conference guests.

Pharmacy:
•CVS is located 2 blocks from the Hanover Inn at 79 South Main Street. Phone (603) 643-3178. Store Hours: Open 24 hours/day. Pharmacy Hours: Mon-Fri 8:00 am – 10:00 pm, Sat and Sun 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.
•Walgreens in West Lebanon has a pharmacy that is open 24 hours a day. 3 Airport Road, West Lebanon, NH. Phone (603) 298-5796.

Hospital: Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is a 5 minute drive from the Hanover Inn. One Medical Center Drive, Lebanon, NH. Phone (603) 650-5000. Interpreters may be requested by calling (603) 650-5792.

Bank: There are several different banking options in the Hanover Area. Downtown Hanover and DHMC both have a Bank of America branch. Citizens Bank, Mascoma Savings Bank, Ledyard Bank, and Lake Sunapee Bank also have branches on Main Street in Hanover.

Transportation: All transportation for conference-related events will be provided. However, if you wish to do some exploring on your own, there are several available options.

•Dartmouth Coach: Provides shuttle service to Boston’s South Station and Logan Airport and New York City. More information can be found at www.dartmouthcoach.com
•Amtrak: The closest Amtrak station is 10 minutes away in White River Junction, Vermont. The Vermonter Line offers service to New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
 



Things to Do in Hanover
