Kristin A. Veley
i am working in advertising in new york city at Young & Rubicam... not directly related to environmental studies. but on the side i will continue pursuing a lot of other interests (like environmental issues) and maybe in the future my job will more directly relate to the sciences.

I will be working next year for Mercer Mangement Consulting in Boston. Huh! I'm interested to hear what others are doing also... Hope that things are going well, "goodbye-melissa" = )

i think that i am planning on heading out to Bend, OR, to live in the fall. Its supposedly an amazing area, and the nonprofit, WildWilderness is based there. they do a lot of stuff with logging rights in the old-growth forests, and other things too. I am going to try to contact them next week (after my thesis is finally over!). also, i have been thinking about applying to U. Washington medical school in seattle... they really focus on rural primary care. however, in order to apply even, you need to be a resident of the pacific northwest.

Then, from january to july or around those times, hopefully i'll be in zimbabwe working with SAFIRE. anne chishawa said that they'd be happy to have volunteers, but i have had a hard time getting in touch with her over email. hopefully, it will all work out. i desperately want to go back.

that's at least the general plan... though matt o.'s chance to spend 2.5 years in southern africa with the peace corps has got me thinking along those lines too....

Julie K. Kendrew
Back to school...University of Vermont Medical School. Will I ever be done?!

then...

I just found out that I will be doing Peace Corps next year in Guinea! I will be doing Environmental Education with a school district -- helping teachers to encorporate the environment into their classroom and also working with the community.

I would love to hear what everyone else will be up to too!
