Dr. Andrew Gettinger is an attending intensivist, attending anesthesiologist, and the Senior Medical Director of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC), Lebanon, New Hampshire, and Medical Director of Informatics and Information Systems at DHMC. He is also Associate Professor of Anesthesiology at Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, New Hampshire, and his specialties are anesthesiology and critical care medicine.
Dr. Gettinger earned his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, Hanover, New Hampshire, in 1979. After his anesthesiology residency at Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Connecticut, he completed a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, Hanover, New Hampshire, as well as a Pediatric Anesthesiology and Critical Care Fellowship at the Children's Hospital Medical Center at Harvard Medical School, Boston, Massachusetts.
A reviewer for such journals as CHEST, Critical Care Medicine, American Medical Informatics Association, Spine, and The International Journal of Psychiatry in Medicine, Dr. Gettinger has published numerous articles, abstracts, and book chapters, and received the Award of Excellence, APEX 14th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence in 2002. He is a member of various professional societies, including the New Hampshire Medical Society, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the International Anesthesia Research Society, and the American Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, of which he is a founding member. Dr. Gettinger is also a Fellow in the American College of Critical Care Medicine.
