Honor Code:
You are expected to observe all aspects of the Academic Honor Principle
that is discussed in the ORC. Dartmouth College policy requires that any
apparent violation of the Honor Code be reported to the Committee on Standards.
The work you hand in should be your own. Sources must be clearly and properly
identified - books, internet sites, professors, students and other sources must
be acknowledged. If you have any questions about proper citation, please blitz
your TA, or Professor Robbie.
If you are ever in doubt of any aspect of how the honor code pertains to this
course, please ask one of the TA's. It is always safer to err on the side of
caution. The website has a detailed explanation of how the honor code applied
to each of the major parts of this course for which you will receive a grade.
2. Papers: From the stages of choosing a topic, through doing research, you may work with other students. However, the actual writing of the paper must be done individually. You may have other students proofread your work and give you their opinions. The only thing they cannot do is write any section of your paper for you. Sources must be properly identified with corrected citations.
Learning Disabilities
Learning disabilities are a fact of education, and a student should not have to be at a disadvantage because of them. If you have any sort of a learning disability, please contact Professor Robbie. Dartmouth has an active program to help students with disabilities. The Student Disabilities Coordinator, Nancy Pompian, can be reached at extension 2014.
