The College's Radiation Safety Program encompasses the New Hampshire Rules for the Control of Radiation. The primary elements of our Radiation Safety Program include written policies and procedures, training and periodic compliance inspections. Strict rules and regulations apply to the use of radioactive materials on the Dartmouth campus.
The Dartmouth College Radiation Safety Committee provides oversight and review of the Radiation Safety Program.
Additionally, the Radiation Safety Program oversees x-ray producing equipment safety and the safe use of non-ionizing radiation which includes lasers. All class IIIb and IV lasers must be registered with EHS.
