Much of my life's work has been devoted to the art and craft of teaching: twenty six years of service in public schools as a secondary and a middle school teacher, a cooperating practitioner and for the last twelve years as an instructor and supervisor training new teachers in rural China, the Central Pacific and the United States. My love of children coupled with the wonder, the hope, the joy that learning brings, spurs me to mentoring new teachers who will nurture these traits in children everywhere. For "education is the great equalizer." To teach is to embark on one of the most arduous, necessary and fulfilling journeys of a lifetime.
