The Department of Education at Dartmouth College seeks a tenure-track/tenured faculty member at any level with expertise in human development, learning, and teaching to begin in Fall 2009 and eventually assume the Directorship of the Teacher Education Program. The Director of Teacher Education supervises the Instructors of the Elementary and Secondary Teacher Education Programs, while overseeing the Teacher Education Program's admissions, accreditation process and recruiting efforts.

The successful candidate will be passionate about teaching at the undergraduate level; conduct research that fully involves and engages undergraduates and is consistent with the broadly defined Mind, Brain, and Education focus of the Department; have at least three to five years of commendable public school teaching experience; and have leadership experience. Teaching responsibilities will include both introductory-level courses and higher-level courses for advanced undergraduates, with opportunities to work with graduate students through the Psychological and Brain Sciences Graduate Programs. We are seeking experienced classroom educators and scholar-researchers committed to research and bridging the gaps among developmental and educational research, policy and practice. A doctorate in Education, Human Development, Educational Policy or the equivalent is required.
