| Sediment Sampling on the NH coast. |
Oceans cover two thirds of our planet. As such, oceanographic processes play pivotal roles in the physical, chemcial and biological processes that occur on the earth. The Department of Earth Sciences at Dartmouth College has a number of faculty that examine a variety of oceanographic processes, including the physical processes that deliver and de-water sediments (Dade) to the circulation of ocean water (Sharma) and the geophysical characterization of oceanographic waves and sediments (Dade and Sonder). The chemistry of nutrients, their delivery and cycling are also examined using both sediment and ocean particulates (Sharma and Bostick). The details of these processes are discussed on the web pages of each faculty member below.
