RESULTS:
March 21st and 22nd, 2009: The San Francisco Fog and the Cal Berkley Bears host the DWRC on its 2009 Tour to California, starting off 2009 with a 1-1 record.
The DWRC started off tour with their first game against The Fog, a San Francisco Club Side, and though defeated 0-29, the team showed great strength and endurance against a larger and more experienced club side. While the DWRC's "light" forwards held strong for most of the game, The Fog's lightening fast wing was able to sneak in three of the five Fog tries in break away situations.
The next day, without any rest, the DWRC was able to triumph, though exhausted, in their match against Berkley. The DWRC backs were able to execute some great wide plays and score along the outside on the pitch, and though the Bears kept pace with the score, the DWRC was able to hold on to the lead, finishing with a 20-15 victory.
Stay tuned for when the DWRC takes on Stanford, defending National Champions, this Tuesday, March 12th at 7 PM at Steuber Stadium in Palo Alto at Stanford University!

ABOUT THE DWRC:
Since its establishment in the spring of 1978, the DWRC has had a long tradition of excellence in New England. This legacy includes eight appearances in the U.S. National Tournament sweet sixteen, three Elite Eight finishes, and nine Ivy League titles. Dartmouth Women's Rugby has also toured every spring break since 1987, visiting clubs all over the world. With the completion of the beautiful COREY FORD RUGBY CLUBHOUSE and new pitches in 2005, Dartmouth Rugby is ready to host national events and touring sides.
Women's Rugby at Dartmouth is a club sport governed completely by its members. The DWRC, as a member of the New England Rugby Football League, competes intercollegiately at the D-1 level. With games during both the fall and spring terms, the DWRC fields both competitive and social sides at each match.
NEW PLAYERS are always welcome to join the DWRC -- no experience necessary! If you are interested in coming out, blitz captains Michelle Dunn '09 and Monica Martin de Bustamante '08.

DARTMOUTH RUGBY ENDURING CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
For over 50 years, Dartmouth Rugby has maintained the spirit, passion and on-field excellence which
attended the founding of the sport at the College. With the loyal support of over 2,000 active alums, the
completion of the unparalleled Corey Ford Rugby Clubhouse, and continued
national on-field prominence, the DWRC has enhanced its standing as one of the preeminent collegiate rugby programs.
Building on that tradition, our
objective now is to position the club for continued excellence for the
years to come. It is in this context that Dartmouth
Rugby is gearing up to launch its second ever capital campaign. For more information about how you can participate or volunteer, visit our Dartmouth Rugby Enduring page.
