Mahler 5
Join The Dartmouth Symphony this Spring to experience Gustav Mahler’s cosmic 5th Symphony.
Prokofiev Piano Concerto No. 3 with Cory Chang ‘13, Piano
Beethoven Symphony No. 7
One of the most virtuostic and breathtaking pieces for the piano, Prokofiev's 3rd Piano Concerto is undoubtedly one of the greatest works of the 20th century. With complex interactions between the soloist and orchestra, Prokofiev's Piano Concerto No. 3 showcases Prokofiev's inventive prowess in punctuating lyrical passages with witty dissonances, while maintaining a balanced partnership between the soloist and orchestra.
Krommer, Concerto for Two Clarinets in E Flat Major, Op 35
Debussy, Petite Suite
Antonin Dvorak's bucolic, idyllic Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Op. 88 (1890), is joined by Franz Krommer's Concerto for Two Clarinets in E Flat Major, Op 35 (1802), with Dartmouth seniors Shannon Draucker and Matthew Boyas on the work's sparkling Mozartian interplay of two clarinets. Complementing the two East European works is Claude Debussy's languid, pastoral Petite Suite.
