Presentation on the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare)
The 2010 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act makes sweeping changes to health care financing, delivery, and access. The law includes an employer mandate to provide health benefits, an individual mandate to maintain health insurance, the introduction of health insurance exchanges and an expansion of Medicaid, and delivery system and payment reforms such as Accountable Care Organizations. Professor Colla will briefly describe each of these provisions and discuss recent research on the efficacy of Accountable Care Organizations.
Dr. Carrie Colla is Assistant Professor at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice at Dartmouth Medical School and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics. She is a health economist specializing in health insurance markets, insurance benefit design, provider payment, and the care and needs of the elderly. The event will be held Wednesday Oct. 17 at 7 PM in Rocky 1

In addition to being able to build up meaningful trading records, students will have a chance to interact with peers from across a dozen top-tier universities. Participants showing the best performance will have a chance to engage in on-going dialogue with hedge fund PMs. Top three competitors will split a $5,000 prize pool.
