TINY RIDERS

---

Tiny Riders is an excellent way to introduce children 3-5 years of age to the fun of horses and riding. Our program runs on from May through September.  Our regular lessons require a child be at least 6 years old, so this is a way to get an eager child a chance to try riding. It's fun and safe. All sessions are on a leadline, with the children able to try riding with more control as they progress. Only one pony is used for a group of 3-5 children, allowing the focus to be on the child riding. Helmets are required when working around the pony, and are available for use at the farm. Once a child reaches 6 years old they can join our regular lessons, a step ahead. We have some graduates in regular lessons now and they fit right in.

There are now two levels offered:

v    Level I introduces children to horses, the farm and riding. Week one is a tour of the farm, instruction on how to behave around horses, what they eat, where they live and their riding equipment. Week two they learn how to brush a horse and work safely around it. Weeks three and four introduce the child to riding the horse or pony.

v    Levels II is for those children who have completed Level I. The children learn more about controlling the horse, the different parts of the horse and tack and proceed to learning the trot while mounted.

Cost: Level I classes are 30 minutes in length and cost $60. Levels II is 45 minutes in length and costs $65. All levels run in four-week sessions.

All children should come dressed for the barn, in pants and boots (or shoes with a heel). Please no sandals, sneakers or shorts! Helmets are available at the barn and must be worn when working around the horses and while mounted.

Other: In all Tiny Riders classes, the horses and ponies are ALWAYS on the leadline being led by the instructor. At no time in any of the levels are the children riding on their own. Children waiting their turn must stay on the mounting block, or just behind it so children need to know how to wait and share! Parents are expected to remain on the farm grounds at all times

All sessions limited to 5 children, ages 3-5.

The Tiny Riders Program runs each month from May 1st through September 30th!

 See you then!
