Dartmouth Riding Center @ the Morton Farm

Schoolies

Dartmouth has the good fortune to have a number of wonderful school horses. Most of them are donations. If you think you have a horse that would make an appropriate school horse, please contact Sally Batton.

Wondering what ever happened to that old favorite lesson horse? Check out the retirees.

Absolut
horse
Absolut is an Irish Sport Horse whose background includes foxhunting and eventing.
Barney
horse
Older than time, Barney is a safe, kind teacher for Morton Farm's beginner riders.
Brickle
horse
Brickle has been at the barn the longest of any of the current school horses. He's a sweet appy pony who is a favorite of the camp and children riders. Here he's shown during a camp horse show, wild braid job and all.
Foxy Cleopatra
horse
Owned by Sally's daughter Jenna, Foxy is also used by the program and is great at polocrosse and also loves to jump. (Shown here with owner Jenna and four-time Olympian Anne Kursinski, at a clinic Anne gave to the Dartmouth team.)
Isaac
horse
Isaac is a versatile horse, doing dressage, jumping, and even polocrosse.
Lefty
horse
Lefty is a wonderful teacher for beginning jumpers, he almost smiles as he goes over fences! His calm and willing temperament makes for an enjoyable ride for any level rider.
Lilly
horse
Lilly is a sturdily built bay mare, named after one of the team’s senior captains both for physical appearance and ability in the arena. Her robust trot is notorious throughout the Morton Farm Community.
Linus
horse
Lovable Linus joined us in Fall 07. His background is working as a dressage horse but he's a jumping fiend and loves to jump both in the ring and cross-country!
Maestro
horse
Maestro is a saint with beginners and a great flat draw for shows. An older gelding, he was donated to the program by Helen Naylor.
Maizie
horse
Maizie is a 6 hand 2 year old chestnut mutt. She joins Morton’s jumping string with an energetic flair. In her downtime, she loves eating flies and the occasional bee. She also enjoys a good belly rub.
Sam
horse
Sensitive and well trained, Sam has become a favorite among the teams advanced riders since arriving at Morton Farm.
Thaddy
horse
Talented with a sweet disposition, Thaddy has travelled with us to Regionals, Zones, and Nationals and was a favorite at all of them.
