Dartmouth Riding Center @ the Morton Farm

Programs at Morton Farm

Dartmouth Riding Center has a number of programs that run at various times during the year.

Challenge Program

Yes, the Dartmouth Challenge program for mentally challenged riders is alive and well! The program runs once/week from May through November.

This program was started by Bob Hustek, '51, who appealed to his classmates and raised money to fund the program for the last seven years! Two riders, Kerry and Michael, have been in the program since it's inception and Beth Barna continues to teach the weekly class. We also have an army of volunteers who help make this program a success.

We hope to continue to run this program at no cost to the riders by donations earmarked for the "Challenge Program".

Foxchasing

From August 1 through the end of November each year, you can find program director Sally Batton taking a group of Dartmouth and community riders foxchasing in Lyme, NH and South Woodstock, VT. Alums are welcome to join inthe fun, just contact Sally by phone or email.

IHSA, IDA, and IEA teams

Morton Farm is the home of the Dartmouth Varisty Riding team for Intercollegiate Horse Show Association the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (grade school level) as well as the Intercollegiate Dressage Association club team.

Polocrosse

One polocrosse class is offered each term, with mainly Dartmouth students playing. Polocrosse is like lacrosse on horseback and is loads of fun! Sally wrote the first book on it!

TinyRiders

From May to October each year Morton Farm offers a riding program for three to five year-olds, called Tiny Riders.
