School Horses

Dartmouth has the good fortune to have a number of wonderful school horses. Most of them are donations. If you think you have a horse that would make an appropriate school horse, please contact Sally Batton.

ABSOLUT:   Absolut is an Irish Sport Horse whose background includes foxhunting and eventing.

RED: An ex-eventer, Red is eager to please and will jump any fence from any distance.

THADDY: A talented gelding with a sweet disposition.  He's travelled with us to Regionals, Zones and Nationals and was a favorite at all of them.

SAM: A sensitive but well trained horse, Sam has become a favorite among the teams advanced riders since arriving at Morton Farm.

ISAAC: Isaac is a versatile horse, doing dressage, jumping, and even polocrosse.

MAGIC: A versatile Quarter Horse with a western background, Magic is also solid over fences and a great addition to the program.

MILES: Miles has a sweet disposition and has gone well for beginner and advanced riders alike.

MAIZIE: Maizie is a 6 hand 2 year old chestnut mutt.  She joins Morton’s jumping string with an energetic flair.  In her downtime, she loves eating flies and the occasional bee.  She also enjoys a good belly rub.

WYATT:  Wyatt is super pony and joined us Fall 07.  He goes in beginner to advanced lessons and loves to trail ride and jump.

BRICKLE: A sturdily built appaloosa pony, Brickle is a great teacher for our beginner riders as well as those learning to jump.

HOLLISTER:  Hollister joined the string with his friend Wyatt in Fall 07.  Hollister is super over fences, is a great dressage horse and loves to trail ride.

VICTOR: A Holsteiner cross with an equitation background, Victor is great over fences and a favorite among our tall riders.

MAESTRO: An older gelding donated to the program by Helen Naylor, Maestro is a saint with beginners and a great flat draw for shows.

FOXY CLEOPATRA: Owned by Sally's daughter Jenna, Foxy is also used by the program and is great at polocrosse and also loves to jump.

LINUS:  Lovable Linus joined us in Fall 07.  His background is working as a dressage horse but he's a jumping fiend and loves to jump both in the ring and cross-country!

BARNEY: Older than time, Barney is a safe, kind teacher for Morton Farm's beginner riders.

LILLY: A sturdily built bay mare, Lilly is named after one of the team’s senior captains both for physical appearance and ability in the arena. Her robust trot is notorious throughout the Morton Farm Community.

LEFTY:  A wonderful teacher for beginning jumpers, Lefty almost smiles as he goes over fences!  His calm and willing temperament makes for an enjoyable ride for any level rider.
