The Dartmouth LGBT Network is a group comprised of Dartmouth faculty, staff and administrators dedicated to enhancing life for lesbian, gay, bisexual & transgendered people and their allies at the College. The Dartmouth LGBT Network has a strong focus on social and professional networking with members of the Dartmouth and Upper Valley LGBT communities.
The College has a strong commitment to the LGBT members of the Dartmouth community and this commitment is reflected in its benefits and policies. The College stopped requiring homosexual employees to provide an Affidavit of Domestic Partnership for health insurance, since there was not a similar requirement for heterosexual employees. Another benefit change of interest to LGBT families is the recent addition of Parental Leave. Two weeks paid leave is provided to the non-birth parent. In the case of adoption, both parents are eligible for the leave.
