The Dean of the College Award for Service recognizes and honors students for contributions that broadly benefit the Dartmouth community, that bring members of the community together and that strive to honor Dartmouth's Principle of Community. These efforts should represent contributions that are above and beyond work usually expected of students in their roles as student leaders, members of organizations or employees, and can be made through their connections with a variety of departments, teams, clubs, residence halls or community projects. While not specifically focused on community service to the broader communities surrounding Dartmouth, efforts that result in sustained support for engaging members of the Dartmouth community in broader community service may also be considered.
We encourage nominations of students from all classes, not just upper class students. All currently enrolled students who are in residence in Hanover are eligible to receive the award. Students not enrolled for the current term will be considered in a subsequent term when they are enrolled.
Selections are made based on nominations from members of Dartmouth students, staff and faculty.
