Good afternoon everybody!
We're glad you could join us here today at historic Palmer Stadium in
breathtaking Princeton, New Jersey, as the Ivy League Champion Big Green of
Dartmouth look to wrap up an undefeated season at 10-0 with a victory over the
Princeton Tigers.
Today marks the final game ever to be played at Palmer Stadium. Built back in
1914, the structure will be torn down after this season. It seems that the
stadium has been crumbling even faster than Princeton's football team this year!
How's life been in the Ivy League basement, guys? Hmm.. let's see... what other
things here at Princeton would we like to see torn down??? How about the storage
room that holds that God-awful orange and black plaid material used to make the
Princeton Band's uniforms? Or maybe even the Princeton Athletic Department
office? After all, they actually had the nerve to cut out our half-time show
this week in favor of a tribute to their collapsing stadium. Wow, what a
half-time combination it's going to be... The Princeton Band and A Palmer
Stadium Tribute! A perfect time to head out to the bathrooms and concessions
stands, folks... but you'll have to avoid the mad rush!
Watch now as the Band forms Palmer Stadium collapsing and plays "Na Na Hey
Hey Goodbye"...
PALMER STADIUM "NA NA HEY HEY GOODBYE"
As we all know, the Big Green captured its 17th Ivy League Championship last
week up at Providence with a thrilling 27-24 victory over Brown last week (woo
hoo!), and this afternoon we've got an little unfinished business to take care
of down here at Princeton. You may remember that last year, Princeton kicked a
game-tying field goal against Dartmouth in the closing seconds last year to
steal the Ivy League Championship up in Hanover. We in the DCMB would just like
to say, "What a difference a year makes!" We'll be picking up that trophy on our
way home this year, thank you very much!
The DCMB would like to thank you all for attending today's game, and all our
games this season. We'll see you again in 1997, as Dartmouth proudly defends its
Ivy League crown.

*Princeton 11/23/96 - Tim Redl
Note: There is no half-time show this week... the folks from Princeton cut it
out to make room for their dedication to Palmer Stadium, which will be torn down
after this season
PRE-GAME
And now... the only band in the Ivy League that can say it plays for the 1996
IVY LEAGUE CHAMPION FOOTBALL TEAM... the Dartmouth College Marching Band!!!
