Dartmouth vs. Harvard, 10/28/95 (Away)

PREGAME

And Now... the only band in the Ivy League that thinks Fidel Castro would love New York's Cubism exhibit, the Dartmouth College Marching Band!

BAND DOWNFIELD TO DT-1

The DCMB is thrilled that we once again have a chance to tour the Harvard campus. Our tour included a look at the John Harvard "statue of three mistakes," which isn't really John Harvard, identifies him incorrectly as the founder of Harvard, and gives the wrong dates for his life. In addition to the statue of three mistakes, Harvard boasts the campus of three mistakes: being located on the Charles River, using Harvard Square as a cultural center, and failing to build the rest of the stadium. Harvard students are familiar with the application process of three mistakes, applying, getting in, and accepting. The DCMB would like to salute Harvard by playing a song about 10 thousand mistakes.

REVERSE CONCERT FORMATION HAHVAHD SONG

Please rise as student conductor Dave "Deep-Throat" Mattingly leads the band in the playing of the Alma Mater.

HALFTIME

And Now upon a campus dreary, while Harvard students, weak and weary,

Study many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,

Without a party, and nearly napping suddenly there came the tapping of the Dartmouth College Marching Band!

BAND DOWNFIELD TO DT-1

Since Halloween is drawing near, and we are running out of beer,

The marching band herein solutes the poem of Edgar Allan Poe.

But if in this poem you seek a Raven, some other work you will be cravin'

The road to heck we're surely pavin' by saying that your school's a bore.

But drinking parties? now that the DU has finally closed its doors?

Quoth the Crimson, "Nevermore."

To combat their pathetic plight, of studying almost every night,

Harvard students were in search of one new hobby, maybe more.

Their lessons were extremely tough, but in the end they learned enough,

For they knew how to knit and stuff, although they still could never score

Watch as now the marching band forms a bottle of liquor

And plays for you our song d'jour.

FIRST FORMATION FIRST SONG

Recently at Harvard college, bastion of all useless knowledge,

A million-dollar sum was paid so that the Crimson could endure

A talk by famed aristocrat, and statesman: Yassir Arafat.

He said the violent tit for tat was now completely o'er.

But would the peace that he had crafted turn back into war?

Quoth the Yassir "Nevermore."

Watch now as the band doth form a group that's anti-war

and plays for you New Yor(k), New Yor(k)

SECOND FORMATION SECOND SONG

All around in Harvard Square, religious cults are in the air

And we think that their beliefs are really quite a shocker.

But to let the crowd here really know it, we must use another poet

And so we leave Edgar A. Poe, it seems we need the Doctor:

Would you, could you sacrifice

A calculator for a price?

To make sure your grades don't die?

Will you sit here chanting Pi?

Eat some bagels? Without lox?

Will you root for the Red Sox??

Is your football team hard-core?

Will they ever really score?

Quoth the Big Green.... "Nevermore."

Since on the beach we wish to lie,

Watch now as we form Hawaii.

THIRD FORMATION THIRD SONG
