About DCGH
Our present era of rapid globalization is transforming our world in to a much larger and smaller place at the same time: Kenya is only a day's plane ride away, but in some ways, Sub-Saharan Africa has never been farther from the United States. AIDS is just one many health problems afflicting world where many nations are plagued by such troubles as extreme poverty, starvation, poor sanitation, civil war, and domestic violence, among others. The goal of the Dartmouth Coalition for Global Health is to educate and increase awareness these issues in the community and facilitate solutions in anyway possible, however diminutive or humble.
In the fourth year since its inception, the for (DCGH) is continuing to flourish with its largest ever group of hardworking and passionate individuals. Over the last two terms, DCGH members have helped coordinate a college-wide Chernobyl memorial event, participated in such endeavors as a Grassroots Soccer awareness and fundraising event, FACE AIDS's awareness event as well as spearheading countless global health related lectures, panels, and discussions on campus. We hope to continue this work this coming year and beyond and would like to thank all of the members and the Dartmouth Community as well as Ambassador Kenneth Yalowitz and the Dickey Center for their perennial enthusiasm and unwavering support our efforts.
