Once again the two Dartmouth teams went to battled in a friendly at the new Chase 3 ground. It was by no means a perfect day for cricket as far as the weather went, but just perfect as far as the competitive spirit goes.
Both teams had players to choose from and in the end fielding 12 players a side. Tuck won the toss and decided to bat first. It was a 30 over game and Tuck lost their 1st wicket with the very 1st ball of the match when Jay bowled a perfect away swinger. Although Tuck kept the score ticking they lost wickets in regulation and partnerships were few. In the end they were bowled out for just 209 with about 4 overs to go.
DCCC decided to mix up the batting by granting a few of the new comers a chance to bat early on as it was after all also a practice session. As with Tuck, DCCC kept loosing wickets in regulation without building any decent partnerships. The run rate however was not hard to keep up with and DCCC easily narrowed in on the target. There was a bit of a scare towards the end when a few wickets fell quickly, but with only 30 odd runs needed it seemed an easy task.
DCCC scored the runs with 3 overs remaining and 1 wicket standing and a fine drizzle that was threatening all morning. It was a nice outing and good to have the two teams give each other a go.
