The 2012 DCARE spring symposium examined arguments for and against the use of herbal marijuana in treatment. The pharmacology and toxicology of marijuana and its cannabinoid derivatives was explored. Cultural, social and political aspects of marijuana use in healing were examined and the current status of legislation, use and misuse of medical marijuana in New England and across the U.S. reviewed.
