The Dartmouth Center on Addiction, Recovery and Education (DCARE) is a collaborative effort of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School. The Center was founded by a coalition of Dartmouth students, alumni, faculty, administrators and staff along with members of the regional community under the auspices of the Office of the Provost.

About the Center


The Center serves to: address alcohol, tobacco and other drug-related issues • facilitate the development of needed programs • encourage leadership in helping reduce substance abuse • provide a forum for the sharing of stories and perspectives • enhance conditions supportive of fulfilling lifestyles. Those associated with the center help identify, create, link and offer resources, bringing the College's multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural academic and community service strengths together to address these vital issues.
