The Dartmouth Center on Addiction, Recovery and Education (DCARE) is a collaborative effort of Dartmouth College and Dartmouth Medical School. The Center was founded by a coalition of Dartmouth students, alumni, faculty, administrators and staff along with members of the regional community under the auspices of the Office of the Provost.
The Center serves to: address alcohol, tobacco and other drug-related issues • facilitate the development of needed programs • encourage leadership in helping reduce substance abuse • provide a forum for the sharing of stories and perspectives • enhance conditions supportive of fulfilling lifestyles. Those associated with the center help identify, create, link and offer resources, bringing the College's multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural academic and community service strengths together to address these vital issues.
