Monday, January 24, 2005 - 4:00-5:00 PM Blackboard for Science Courses with Professor Lee Witters. The Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning will team up with Curricular Computing to offer a discipline-specific workshop on using BlackBoard to teach science courses. Lee Witters, Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry and Biological Sciences will show his Biology 2 Blackboard site. We expect to show the benefits to teaching and learning offered by purposeful application of Blackboard technology to science courses. Our goal in this workshop is to prompt your interest, not to show you specifically how to use the tool. We also hope the demonstration will prompt discussion about modes of teaching courses in general, and the benefits and drawbacks of technology in our courses.
The workshop will be held in the Starr Instructional Center classroom in the Jones Media Center on Level 3 of Berry Library. Please enroll in the workshop by responding to Diane Chamberlain, the administrative assistant to DCAL.
