U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Colleges 2010” ranks Dartmouth number 1 in “Best Undergraduate Teaching” among national universities.
The rankings note that Dartmouth’s world-class faculty, facilities, and graduate and professional programs add up to “resources that very few universities can match. In addition, by maintaining a highly flexible quarter-system calendar, and allowing only faculty to teach its undergraduate courses, Dartmouth assures that students have complete and timely access to all that the institution has to offer.”
President Jim Yong Kim says this is “a most appropriate ranking, considering the long-standing dedication of our faculty to providing the very best in teaching.”
In the magazine’s overall rankings, Dartmouth placed 11th among the best national universities.
