Led by Director Walt Cunningham (center), the Dartmouth Gospel Choir brought the crowd to its feet at a Martin Luther King Jr. Day performance at the Cavalry United Methodist Church in Arlington, Va. The choir also helped kick off Inauguration festivities with a Jan. 18 performance-along with Grammy-winning artists Carole King, Yolanda Adams, and BeBe Winans-at a Washington, D.C., breakfast for supporters of President Barack Obama. The choir was able to extend its stay through Inauguration day thanks to D.C.-area alumni who opened their homes to choir members. (Photo by Meg Sommerfeld '90)
