TRAINING
:: CPR/First Aid ::
Dartmouth EMS is proud to offer American Heart Association certification courses in CPR and First Aid.
Most of our CPR courses are "Heartsaver" level, though we do periodically offer training on the
"Basic Life Support (BLS)" level for professional rescuers.
April Course Schedule:
HS CPR FRI, April 4 from 5-8pm
FA SUN, April 6 from 6-9pm
HS CPR SUN, April 13 from 6-9pm
HS CPR MON. April 21 from 3-6pm
FA WED, April 30 from 3-6pm
All courses will be held in the Oberlander Lounge in Alumni Gym unless indicated otherwise.
We send campus-wide blitzes announcing CPR and First Aid courses to the Dartmouth community; however,
our courses are opening to any interested individual. To RSVP to an existing course or to be placed
on a waiting list for the next available course, please email us at
Dartmouth.EMS@dartmouth.edu.
:: EMT Training ::
Becoming an EMT involves a 100 hour classroom course with an additional 10 hour hospital observation.
Although Dartmouth EMS does not offer EMT certification directly, there is usually at least one course
taught annually either on campus, or at the
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical center (DHMC). Course dates will be posted as they become available
to us. Visit the website of the
NH Dept. of Safety for more NH EMT information.
DHMC also offers a variety of Continuing Education courses; often these courses will be offered on
campus. Again, we will post available dates as they become available. You can monitor the Dartmouth
EMS blitz bulletin for more information.
