Korea Exchange Program (currently being explored)

Dartmouth is currently exploring the possibility of arranging an exchange for its students with a prominent university in Seoul, Korea. Though details have yet to be determined, it is likely that students would have the opportunity to spend an extended fall quarter in Seoul, undertaking a combination of content courses and language training while experiencing an immersion in the dynamic cultural and linguistic atmosphere of one of the world's major cities. The curriculum will likely include courses in Korean studies as well as classes available in international studies, literature and culture, political science and economics, among others. Students selected for the Korea Exchange Program would presumably be eligible to transfer a full quarter of exchange credit. This proposal is still being considered by both Dartmouth and the potential partnering institution in Korea, and there is as yet no guarantee that it will be initiated. Should it commence, the program would not begin until the 2008 ~ 2009 academic year at the very earliest. Interested students should contact Prof. Chris Hanscom for details.
