WoodstockThis ride has some similarities to Pech's sweet Ride (the page has some sweet pictures). Go out of Norwich on Beaver Meadow or Brag/Dutton Hill if you like nice views and dirt. Keep going as Beaver Meadow leaves Norwich and turns to dirt soon after the turnoff to Tigertown. When the road ends, go left on 132 in to Sharon. Then go right, cross the river and turn left on Howe Hill road. Go up. The road eventually 'T's in to Pomfert -- take a right. In a couple of miles, you'll merge in to Vt 12 and you take a left on River Rd. not long afterwards. Take this to the end, where you go left on Quechee Main St. Follow it for a ways, and you'll be in the middle of Quechee -- who'd have thunk? At the stop sign after the center of town, go right on Old Queeche Rd. At the 'T', go right on Costello, then go straight when it turns in to Old River Road. Eventually, you'll reach a bridge over the right river -- cross it. Right on 14. Left on Christian, Left on US5 and you're home! Godoogle puts it at 43.7mi. |
