G4C- Patrell Loop
This is a relatively short loop, mostly on dirt roads, that is beautiful and isolated.
- Start by heading north on rte 5. After a few miles, take a left on Goodrich Four Corners Road.
- At the intersection with Union Village Road, keep on heading straight, onto Patrell Road. Patrell Road is a narrow dirt road, that starts off under tree cover, but after a very short steep pitch, opens up for panoramic views.
- At this point, the road starts to descend. Take a right at the T (onto Kerwin Hill Road), and keep descending until you hit 132.
- You can take (a right on) 132 back to 5, or if you want to return on more dirt roads, take a left on academy (off of 132), go over the covered bridge, then take an immediate right onto Campbell Flats Rd. This takes you onto 132, right by the bridge, and near the junction with 5.
Other thoughts on G4C and Patrell
- On any ride that involves 132, G4C-patrell is a great way to get there while avoiding rte 5.
- The more curious of you may wonder what happens if you go left when Patrell T's into Kerwin Hill Road. Well, it eventually turns into a very manageable class IV road. If you are wise with route selection, you can end up on New Boston Rd.
Rossman at the top of Patrell road. Nice views...
This is near the end of the Kerwin Hill descent. The farm on the left sells organic eggs, btw.
