A Word From KevinToby: Yo Anyway, here's the point. In about 34 hours, The Toby Marzot that we all love is going to start the U23 world championships in Hooooooooglede-Gits, Belgium. Promotors are expecting upwards of 20,000 spectators. Toby is going to be racing against (among others) Belgian Neils Albert, Dutchman Lars Boom, and Czech Sednyk Stybar. The first two have BEATEN the best cross racer on the planet, Sven Nys, in races this year. The third has beaten the current world champion and is the current defending U23 champion. So, if you're not sure, this is as BIGTIME and cross racing gets for an U23 rider. Email him (he likes the nickname "the boar"), wish him good luck, cheer for him when he starts at 2:30 belgian time on saturday (I think that's 7:30am hanover time, so wake up, nobody rages anymore anyway), etc. It's easy, and Toby deserves the support. See the attached picture for an example of the possibilties, sort of. I don't want to jinx him, so I put him in third place. Second loser. "It takes discipline to become a champion and even more to remain a champion. I am being disciplined in my training camp. I have even tailed off the drinking and cigarettes." -Ricardo "The Matador" Mayorga ![]() |
