I'm a rookie. Just started road riding this year, loving every second of it, really excited to race in the spring.

While riding I sometimes enjoy talking (That is, when I'm not too intensely focused on the pain as I blaze through Friday team recovery rides). I enjoy hypothetical questions, such as, "Negating rider wind resistance, with constant power output of 350 watts, what is the top speed of a bicycle?" and "Assuming a 140 lb rider is being pursued by a coked grizzly bear up Jericho Hill, and the rider has a headstart of 48.3 feet up the hill, will the bear maul the rider before the top? Will the result be the same if the rider has a big knife for self defense? Or a carbon fiber knife for more torsional rigidity and vertical compliance?"
