Okay, this is going to be the mother of all updates. I'm all liquored up (home-made Kahlua +milk+ice=good) and ready to go.

For one, the picture section:

Merry belated christmas. As I've said before, and I'll reiterate, I hate Christmas.

I think Hincapie's fro (on far right) was scientifically proven to make him go faster.

I rode with Gina Hall on wednesday. Her sweet tattoos were not viewable, unfortunately. I've been assured that they're sweet, though. The ride was super windy, so I ask her if it was just like racing in belgium, and she said "yeah, but not nearly as cold or sandy." Wise words.

Riding with no gloves= pro

Riding with no shoes= not pro

Riding with no shoes in the snow, and developing frostbite= so not pro.

This transitions nicely to the rant section of the blog:

-- wearing rain jacket and balaclava when it's 60 degrees out and sunny and you're sweating through all your clothing== not pro and stupid

-- wearing an ipod and no helmet and then riding in the middle of the road while a road rager is about to run you over= clueless

-- riding a really fast motorcycle through the twisty backroads with your buddies at a really slow speed is not cool, especially when you're superfluously doing the whole fancy lean thing through the corners= a waste

--hanging desperately onto Freddy Rodriguez's wheel as he's out riding= not nice

-- riding an old-school bike with leather saddle bags, wool knickers knee-length wool socks and a handlebar mustache= ok, that is really sweet.

Speaking of really sweet, an ode to what's been getting me through my days:

This is a La Pavoni espresso machine. This is the best espresso machine ever made. This one is about 30 years old, and works as well as the day it was bought. I love you so much.

Dec 23= 75mi

Dec 24= 60mi

Dec 25= pain cave w/o flashlight

Dec 26= played soccer= worse idea ever

Dec 27= 68mi

Dec28= 65mi
